Some examples of Education & Training Activities 

Within the scope of the programme “ Prevenir” and “Projecto Vida”, the Unit for Adult Education has organised three courses.

Pedagogic Training for Trainers - Taking part in the Prevention of Drug Addiction. Sixteen people took part in this training scheme, including trainers, doctors, nurses, social workers and health technicians as well as trainers from the University of Minho and other health professionals. The course comprised 36 hours during the week 18th-25th February 1999. The objectives were to promote the prevention of drug addiction through information and training, through developing teacher-training skills, encouraging skill development to train and inform health technicians and enable the participants to promote the training schemes.

Design, Development and Evaluation of the Prevention of Drug Addiction Programme.
Twenty-one trainees and trainers from University of Minho participated in this training programme, as well as other health professionals. The course comprised 90 hours during March and April 1999. The objectives were to make the participants aware of the prevention of drug addiction, develop knowledge and aptitudes in the area of Behavioural Psychology and Group Dynamics and to improve skills in the conception, design and development of Education and Intervention Projects.

Pedagogic Training for Trainers - Taking part in the Prevention of Drug Addiction - phase 2 - Further Investigation. There were 25 participants on this course: doctors, nurses, social workers, health technicians and other health professionals. It comprises 36 hours during October and November 1999. The objectives of this scheme were to promote the prevention of drug addiction through information and training, through developing teacher-training skills, encouraging skill development to train and inform health technicians and enable the participants to promote the training programmes.
